MLL Telecom Posts Exceptional Growth Year

MLL Telecom has announced a 68% increase in sales during 2009 over the previous financial year.“During 2009 we’ve remained focused on meeting the needs of our customers,” said Eddie Minshull, CEO

“We’re enabling them to deliver new services, while reducing their network ownership costs. These positive results are a great indication that our customers appreciate the benefits we can bring them. They are all the more satisfying given the difficult economic climate.” MLL Telecom plans to invest further in 2010 by increasing its workforce by another 25%. The majority of these new positions will be filled by new technical staff.

MLL Telecom also announced the appointment of a new CTO to its leadership team. Stuart Borgman joins MLL from Juniper Networks where he was the Technical Director for Northern Europe. Stuart has over 20 years experience in the telecoms field and has held leadership roles in technology at Cisco and Stratacom. Stuart was also responsible for the network architecture at Shell.

During 2009 MLL has launched some innovative new services including high speed Ethernet Backhaul delivering speeds of up to 450Mbits per second. In the public sector MLL has launched services that enable network sharing for local authorities based on MPLS, fibre, LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) and radio.

MLL Telecom has also gained some significant new customers. Among its mobile operator customers MLL has won a contract to support Ericsson in delivering a backhaul solution to one of Ericsson’s customers. “We have seen real benefit from MLL’s expertise in this area and we look forward to working with them on future projects," said Jonathan Smith, Vice President of the New Business Account team at Ericsson.

In the public sector MLL Telecom has also delivered new services to Nottinghamshire Police to upgrade its connectivity between sites and enable new services for both staff and the public.
