Momote Launch Tracking App

Mobile phone software company Momote has announced a partnership with vehicle tracking company UniTrak, to integrate its systems into a workforce management app.

Newton-le-Willows based Momote launched pay-as-you-go mobile app MyMobileWorkers in 2011- the first of its kind in the UK. The app allows a workforce to accurately log any kind of job information whilst out in the field.

Graham Whistance, the founder of MyMobileWorkers, said: “The partnership between MyMobileWorkers and UniTrak is the perfect synergy, as tracking tells you where a vehicle is and how it is being driven. MyMobileWorkers tells you what happens when the vehicle stops.

Whistance, from Manchester, added: “The app and the tracking device work well as they allow a worker out in the field to access all the correct job information instantly at the touch of a button and the fleet manager can see exactly where they are on a map.”

It ensures that workers are driving safely and efficiently and are being directed via the best route to the nearest job.

UniTrak managing director, Robin Hill-Walker, said fuel savings can also be achieved through tracking: “For every hour that a truck is sitting with the engine running over, it wastes 2.5 litres of fuel. By tracking vehicles, fleet managers can see where they could be saving money.

“Driving efficiencies are at the forefront of many businesses minds.

“MyMobileWorkers and UniTrak offer an improved system of workforce management enabling businesses to reduce fuel costs, labour costs and increase productivity.”
