mopay.co.uk, the UK online mobile recycler, has launched its first ever TV advertising campaign that will be shown on satellite and freeview, on music and entertainment channels during September. The new campaign aims to encourage consumers to turn their old mobile phones into cash and features performing arts students from The Hammond School in Chester.

Since mopay.co.uk launched in 2005 it has paid out over £4.3 million to consumers and has helped redirect over 336 metric tonnes of electronic waste away from landfill for reuse or recycling.

Simon Walsh, sales and marketing director at mopay.co.uk said: “It was important to us to make our advert stand out from the crowd and we think that we have managed to achieve this by making our advert fun and youthful using new and upcoming dance talent from the Hammond School in Cheshire. By opting to advertise on music and entertainment channels we have managed to find a direct fit for the commercial and we hope that it will help promote the message that people can turn their unwanted mobile phones into cash or vouchers whilst helping reduce potential landfill.”

Adding further comment, managing director Craig Smith said: “The TV commercial is a great landmark for mopay.co.uk and I’m extremely proud and excited to see the commercial on TV. I think this amply celebrates our organic growth over the past four years and we hope it gives off the correct message.”
