murphx Invests in Additional Capacity on Cable&Wireless Worldwide Network

Cable&Wireless Worldwide has evolved its strategic relationship with wholesale connectivity carrier, murphx Innovative Solutions, with the introduction of a new interconnect to accommodate the growing ADSL2 traffic that murphx is securing across the network.

Following a period of sales success, and in anticipation of continued growth, murphx is increasing capacity and, as a result of the new interconnect, will be able to drive ten times more data across the C&W Worldwide network.

Over the last seven years, the partnership between both organisations has delivered connectivity solutions to multiple sectors across the Wholesale Channel.

C&W says collaborative working has evolved the relationship from the early days of dial-up services to the current sale of wholesale business-grade broadband and connectivity solutions supporting and contributing to murphx’s phenomenal growth, which is firmly on track to deliver almost double turnover this year.

The seven-year relationship is underpinned and supported by continuous product training and development that has created an in-depth understanding of the organisations’ respective portfolios, ensuring wholesale partners have access to services that deliver value to their business and their customers.

Trusted collaboration has enabled early input into the product development cycle, allowing agility and speed to market for products such as ADSL2+ and assured bandwidth solutions

Starting out as a reseller of dial-up services, murphx has been an active participant in C&W Worldwide’s reseller training programme and, as such, has developed its sales knowledge in tandem with the development of C&W Worldwide’s product set. This has enabled murphx to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the Cable&Wireless Worldwide product portfolio at an early stage. Enabling early interaction in the product development cycle has allowed murphx to hit the ground running when new products have been released with this being exemplified by murphx’s position as the first reseller to go to market with C&W Worldwide’s SDSL and ADSL2+ products.

murphx has also contributed intellectually to C&W Worldwide during its product development cycle, helping to shape the portfolio to the needs of channel partners. Most recently, this has included collaborative working to develop a new B2B interface for the management of Cable&Wireless’ new Software as a Service (SaaS) suite.

A clear delineation of customers and prospects between C&W Worldwide and its channel partners has helped murphx to invest in developing a marketing strategy to target the channel community, with the confidence that the two businesses will not be competing.

C&W Worldwide and murphx intend to extend their relationship further with the introduction of a new Wholesale SaaS proposition for the market later this year.

Carl Churchill at murphx said: “Our relationship with Cable&Wireless Worldwide has been central to our business plan for over seven years now. We have worked closely with Cable&Wireless Worldwide to take advantage of new and emerging technologies at an embryonic stage and contribute both murphx and our customers’ requirements. The result of this strategic alignment has been the capability to develop our proposition, improve our time to market and add value for our partners in a rapidly evolving industry.”

David Dewsbury at Cable&Wireless Worldwide said: “Partnership is the cornerstone of our channel proposition and organisations like murphx, who embrace that and work with us collaboratively are the ones that get the most from the relationship. murphx is a key, long-term strategic partner of Cable&Wireless Worldwide and an excellent example of an innovative and hard-working partner that deserves to have achieved its business growth as a result.”
