MWC: Broadsoft Announce BYOD Game Changer

BroadSoft and OpenPeak has announced they have integrated their capabilities to power the industry’s first Dual Persona for UC, providing users secure access to all of their unified communications services, including voice and video calling, text messaging, instant messaging and presence, and corporate directories

Users can now access both their work and personal communications services from a single device, while ensuring the privacy of their personal information. Enterprises can easily manage their employees’ mobile application and device policies, ensuring their data integrity.

Dual Persona for UC integrates BroadSoft’s UC-One platform, which includes BroadWorks -- the only VoLTE compliant Business Telephony Application Server with the broad-range of unified communications services businesses are seeking, with OpenPeak’s SECTOR® – a secure container that provides users access to all of their UC services and encrypted enterprise data while logged on to the password protected “work side” of their device. Users can seamlessly switch between their business and personal communication services on a single mobile device, with complete privacy and security.

“With a growing dependency on smartphones, individuals expect access to all of their applications, including their unified communications services, from a single mobile device,” said Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer, BroadSoft. “Integrating our broad-range of unified communications services with OpenPeak’s secure ‘device within a device’ containerized environment delivers on the growing Bring Your Own Device trend, freeing individuals to use their preferred personal device to work from anywhere, while providing their employer with confidence their enterprise information is secure.”

“Dual Persona for UC delivers the accessibility and ease of use that today’s mobile workforce needs, with the enterprise data security that IT demands,” said OpenPeak CEO Dan Gittleman. “Our SECTOR solution integrates flawlessly with the BroadSoft UC platform to provide a seamless user experience with remote management capabilities that enable IT to revise or revoke privileges to company data at any time, all while allowing users to fully enjoy their own devices for personal use.”
