Hibernia Atlantic announced its new name, Hibernia Networks. The new name reflects the company’s organic and strategic network growth, having evolved from a transatlantic centric provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions to a premier provider of global solutions.

Hibernia Networks is comprised of three strategic platforms addressing the bandwidth needs and highly specialized requirements across several key markets -- wholesale, financial and media. As part of the company’s global focus, Hibernia Media will now be fully integrated under the Hibernia Networks platform. The company has grown its global network reach to over 120 points of presence (PoPs) in North America, Ireland, United Kingdom, Europe and the Pacific Rim and operates five Hibernia-owned cable landing stations.

Reflecting on the milestone, Bjarni Thorvardarson, Chief Executive Officer for Hibernia Networks stated, “Hibernia has evolved well beyond its original transatlantic serving area. Today, as Hibernia Networks, our company reflects a unified team offering worldwide network services to a focused, but expanding, customer base.”
