National Busy-Chess Awards

Chess plc, the Cheshire based telecoms company has been short listed for three of the prestigious National Business Awards.

Chess reached the final four for The Customer Focus Award, The Business Improvement Through People Award, and the CMS Cameron McKenna Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Orange. Chess was also singled out by the judges for special praise for its entry in The Orange Best Use of Technology in Business Award receiving Highly Commended status.

The National Business Awards are supported by forward-thinking organisations that aim to reward and recognise excellence, best practice and innovation throughout the UK business community. In all of the awards categories, the judges were looking for evidence of these guiding principles.

Chess’ position on the shortlist for three of the awards demonstrates it clearly displays the innovation and overall business success the judges are looking for. Chess recently launched its Blueprint for Success, which is its vision for the future and strategy of growth, and this shone out in each of the awards entries.

“Our Blueprint for Success is at the core of every single business decision Chess people make,” says Chess chief executive David Pollock. “It sets out the reason why we want to grow, our vision for the future and the importance we attach to our culture and values. To be shortlisted for three of The National Business Awards is a fantastic honour and testament to the success of our Blueprint. The National Business Awards is a completely independent and ethical programme that Chess is excited to be a part of.”

Chess will experience the next stage of the judging process in May, when it will deliver presentations to the judges, in advance of July’s glittering Awards ceremony at Manchester’s Palace Hotel.
