GPS pioneer, Navman, has announced the launch of three new satellite navigation devices. These are the S200 Regional, S200 Europe and S300T.

The new models complement the entry level S100, launched in November 2008, and add Bluetooth connectivity, integrated traffic (TMC), European maps and an FM transmitter to Navman’s innovative Spirit software platform with Glide Touch control system.

At 13.5mm, the Spirit series is ultra slim and lightweight in design with a sleek 4.3 inch super flat widescreen. All models in the range include Navman’s unique Live Local Search facility for instant access to up to date details of local shops, restaurants, museums and other facilities.

Navman’s new Spirit software, jointly developed by the research and development team at Navman owner, Mio Technology, and global innovation and design consultancy IDEO, puts usability at the centre of all Navman Spirit devices.

A simplified user interface focuses on three key areas; ‘go’ for regular navigation instructions like putting in an address; ‘find’ to search for specific places, areas or businesses; and ‘explore’ which enables users to search an area in greater detail, or pull up information about local services and amenities using Live Local Search.

With Navman’s revolutionary Glide Touch user interface, users simply tap and slide the touchscreen to open, dock, pan and scroll menus, similar to the latest MP3 players and smartphones.

The S200 Regional, S200 European and S300T will be available in the UK from mid January 2009 with retail pricing starting at £179.99 for the S100 and running to £249.99 for the S300T.
