It was not just new products and applications that were being launched at the Convergence Summit last week – new deals were also amongst the breaking news with the announcement that Neowave is to distribute the Aastra 800 soft call control manager.
Under the terms of the agreement, Neowave will market the Aastra 800 to the company’s reseller community.
“This ‘soft PBX’ can support up to 200 users and delivers a full feature set. With compatible PC interface cards, the Aastra 800 supports analogue and ISDN trunk line types, as well as analogue subscribers. System IP telephones (Aastra 677xip) and Aastra SIP terminals (Aastra 67xxi) are supported natively. The addition of DECT over IP enables users to create a professional mobility network fast and easily,” Aastra stated.
Neowave managing director, Justin Blaine, said: “This is an excellent distribution agreement for us and our reseller partners. Based on market research we have reinvented Neowave in the last six months. We are an exclusive channel-only distributor and we now focus on supporting the marketing effort of our resellers in the SME sector with no nonsense, jargon free messages that the small business owner can understand.
“The Aastra 800 is an ideal comms platform for these customers, because it’s easy to implement, feature rich and includes innovative technology like DECT over IP. It is our first move into the phone system market and our reseller partners will be able to offer the Aastra 800 as a complete, ready to run telephony solution,” he continued.
Commenting on the agreement, Mark Cooper, new business development director at Aastra Telecom UK, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Neowave in this exciting new distributorship agreement. Neowave’s reseller profile is ideal for the Aastra 800 because they are focused on delivering IP solutions.
“Neowave is not a distributor for any other manufacturer’s phone systems, so this makes Aastra its sole supplier for call control managers, providing leading edge technology for Neowave reseller partners and their customers. It is our intention to grow our UK sales through a strong channel marketing strategy,” Cooper concluded.
