Julie Mackenzie and Tina Kerwin have just ended their first year in business as Telecom Distribution. The pair used to run the telecoms division at East Central until its demise last year and decided to set up their own distribution company in October 2005.
The Shoeburyness, Essex based company is distributing Panasonic and Siemens Hipath systems and peripherals and is anticipating adding a VoIP gateway to their portfolio shortly.
Mackenzie says the key to success lies in their personal service. “It is our knowledge of the industry and products – not just current but previous models which comes from being in the industry for over a decade. We are a small company and make it easy for resellers to deal with.”
“VOIP is still taking it’s time to be installed by customers as we still ship a large percentage of analogue systems. Having said that we have just completed our first year and have achieved just short of half a million pounds turnover. We hope to grow the business for year two.”
