Siemens Financial Services has announced the appointment of Peter Austin as the new General Manager for Siemens’ indirect sales channels which include, among others, IT/Comms resellers and distributors, digital imaging resellers, vending machine operators and finance brokers and intermediaries.
Austin joins Siemens with more than 20 years sales and senior management experience across a diverse range of business sectors; including finance, IT and business services as well as motor retail, latterly as Dealer Principal at West London Audi.
Commenting on his appointment, Austin said: “Siemens is a world class brand and a major player in the UK B2B financial services industry. One of the principle reasons for joining was the quality and calibre of the people and management team. All showed a high level of passion and commitment to both their industry and, more importantly, their customers. This was something I found refreshing and incredibly compelling.”
Austin adds: “Much of the success of Siemens Financial Services is built upon a number of outstanding flow business relationships, and my major challenge will be to expand and build upon these. I also intend to encourage more channels to adopt point of sale finance. Why, for example do more than 90% of digital imaging resellers use finance, when the corresponding figure in the ICT sector is nearer 30%? When employed collaboratively, point-of-sale finance drives sales, prevents margin erosion and can become an important incremental revenue stream.
