New Outdoor Access Point from LANCOM Systems

LANCOM Systems say they are the first manufacturer to integrate the latest 300-Mbps wireless LAN technology into a high- performance outdoor access point for extreme environments.

The LANCOM OAP-310agn Wireless features internal heating and cooling, so it can operate in temperatures from -30 °C - +65 °C and is ideal for industrial and outdoor environments. It supports Power over Ethernet for easy mounting away from the power supply, such as at the top of a high mast.

The extremely robust metal housing is rated to IP66 and thus resistant to strong water jets, making this access point ideal for extreme climatic conditions or highly humid environments. Examples are harbors, offshore installations, in mountainous terrain or at railway stations.

The LANCOM OAP-310agn Wireless features a dual-band radio module compliant with IEEE 802.11a/g/n and operates either in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequency band. In the 5-GHz frequency band, the dynamic frequency selection (DFS2) and automatic transmission power control (TPC) enable operations with an effective antenna power output of up to 1000 mW. In combination with the dual-polarization antenna AirLancer Extender O D9a, directional radio bridges can cover distances of up to 20 km (line-of-sight) with data rates of up to 15 Mbps. Up to 100 Mbps can be achieved over shorter distances.

The LANCOM OAP-310agn Wireless offers exhaustive security features: The standard IEEE 802.11i provides absolutely secure wireless communications- including point-to-point bridges-for protection against attack without loss of performance. The wireless LAN can be fully secured and controlled by 802.1x, WPA, ACL und LEPS. What's more, the wireless module works with multiple SSIDs to support up to 8 WLAN networks simultaneously. The free LANtools (LANconfig / LANmonitor) provide professional management and user- friendly monitoring.
