Arrow Business Communications has announced a new reseller agreement with Excitor, provider of secure Mobile Device Management, Secure Mobile Email and business process mobilisation solution, DME.
The recent explosion in the use of smartphones and tablets and the growing popularity of using personal devices for business use is raising the profile of the need to manage, secure and control these devices.
Arrow is taking a pro-active approach to this potential security and control issue by partnering with Excitor to deliver its DME offering, the market leading enterprise mobility solution, to its customers. Excitor’s DME manages, administers and secures a company’s entire mobile fleet and keeps constant track of all mobile data costs. The solution offers a secure Messaging Client that has access to corporate email, calendar, contacts and documents whilst ensuring that corporate data is partitioned from personal data. DME supports all major operating systems, and a broad range of smartphones and mobile devices including Android, iPhone, iPad, and BlackBerry.
The huge increase in smartphone usage in the past couple of years, in particular Apple and Android devices, means that users now demand more from their phones and often prefer to use personal devices which are superior to the phones supplied by their employers.
Arrow Managing Director, Chris Russell says, “Whilst this practice saves money for businesses, it is essential to consider how to effectively manage access to secure company networks by a wide variety of devices and control data usage on company provided SIMs. Excitor DME ticks all the boxes around Mobile Device Management and also provides a secure email container that partitions personal and business data.”
“We see Excitor’s DME as the most exciting addition to our product range this year and we are already working with several clients to enable them to support the use of personal mobile devices without compromising user experience or corporate security”, continues Russell.
Matt Irwin, UK Sales Director at Excitor, comments: “It is highly encouraging to see that Arrow Communications, a telecoms reseller, wants to offer a new solution that enables Blackberry levels of security on the rapidly growing number of smartphone devices being used in the workplace. Android and iPhone are rapidly becoming an essential business tools – it is imperative that corporate data is no less secure on these new smartphones.”
