The first of the new Siemens handsets, due to arrive end of August, is the C460IP dual IP / PSTN DECT phone. According to ProVu the C460IP combines the advantage of reliable and secure DECT technology with the advantages of VoIP and provides the end user with the benefit of one handset to make and receive both VoIP and PSTN calls.
Aimed at the SME/Soho markets, the C460IP base station supports up to 6 GAP compatible DECT handsets and allows both a SIP compliant VoIP call and a fixed line call to be made simultaneously. No computer or other hardware is needed.
ProVu say they are expanding their target customer base to provide the same services to the telecoms reseller channel as they do today for their VoIP Service Provider partners and support Siemens in the UK to expand their channels to market.
