Newcastle lads headline first ever Samsung Galaxy Sessions

Indie rock quartet Little Comets are set to play a unique gig where fans can have their say in what’s happening on the night, from the location to the set list.

The first ever Samsung Galaxy Sessions gig pits UK cities against each other, giving fans the chance to vote to win an exclusive gig at an intimate venue in their city. With critically acclaimed band ‘Little Comets’ headlining, and up and coming Indie trio Giant Steps supporting, the night is set to be massive.

Fans from around the UK will be able to vote via Facebook for their city to host this special gig with one of 2011’s most hotly tipped acts. Voting opens today and Little Comets will be waiting with baited breath to see if the boys will be brought back home to Newcastle. Or perhaps it will come down to a classic north versus south battle between Manchester and London to see an exciting performance of rhythmic melodies from the band’s debut album In Search Of Elusive Little Comets.

Not only will fans get to vote for which city the gig will take place in, they’ll also have a say in the set list by choosing a cover track for the band to perform. What’s more, voters can request a personal shout out from the band and one lucky fan will even get the chance to meet the band backstage.

By visiting Samsung’s FaceBook page and voting, fans will automatically be entered into a prize draw, where they can win tickets to the Samsung Galaxy Sessions gig. Voting opens today and closes on the 25th April 2011.

Little Comets are set to release their single One Night In October on 9th May, the follow-up single to Joanna (released in January) which notched up over 130,000 views on You Tube. They’ve also got big-name support in the form of NME, XFM and music legend, Steve Lamacq. Whilst hotly-tipped indie trio Giant Steps are back in the studio making their first album after launching their first single ‘Tolerate’ on 18th April. Giant Steps have received support from Fearne Cotton on her Radio One show, as well as from John Kennedy (XFM) and Chris Hawkins (6Music).

Lead singer of Little Comets, Robert Coles said, “We are massively excited to be playing the first Samsung Galaxy Sessions gig. We’re doing a few UK dates this summer where a lot of our fans will get to see us but none will get to have a say in what we play on the night, or personally request a shout out, so getting the fans involved for the Samsung Galaxy Sessions adds something different which we’re all looking forward to.”

Supporting the new Galaxy Ace phone which is in store now, Samsung Galaxy Sessions has been created to give fans the opportunity to experience what they want, where and how they want it.
