Nexus take part in local Radio’s Mission Christmas

It’s hard to understand that thousands of local children live in real deprivation and are at risk of waking up on Christmas morning to nothing. This is why Leeds based Nexus Telecommunications Ltd. decided to get involved with Radio Aire’s Mission Christmas.

Every year 96.3 Radio Aire and Magic 828’s Cash for Kids Children’s Charity delivers Mission Christmas, in conjunction with Crown Point shopping park. Together, they aim to make sure that every child in Leeds & West Yorkshire wakes up to a present on Christmas morning.

Instead of buying Christmas cards for their colleagues, many of the staff at Nexus chose to donate the money they would have spent on a pack of cards and buy gifts for Mission Christmas, as well as purchasing gifts to add to the collection.

Joanne Stockdale, who co-ordinated the event at Nexus commented; ‘I am so proud to be taking part in Mission Christmas and really happy with how many people at Nexus got involved. The support has been incredible and I’m sure there will be a few extra happy faces on Christmas day thanks to the team at Nexus. The variety of gifts we have been able to purchase with the money collected has been fantastic’.

The donated presents have now been handed over to Mission Christmas at the Radio Aire Studio and Nexus are proud to have taken part in the contributions towards helping every child have a gift at Christmas.
