NG Bailey Wins Openreach Contract

NG Bailey has signed a five year deal to deliver nationwide ancillary wiring services for Openreach, BT’s local access network business.

NG Bailey’s IT Services division has been tasked with completing between 80 and 100 ancillary wiring jobs each week - working alongside Openreach engineers to install specialist fibre network circuits in commercial and business premises. The work will also involve route creation projects with the deployment of trunking, traywork and blown fibre tubing.

Alan Hall, Openreach Director of Planning said: “NG Bailey have provided managed engineering services to BT for more than 10 years, and they have a proven track record of delivering high volumes of complex work, at high standards to our customers over the UK.”

Openreach is responsible for the first mile of the UK access network - the copper wires and fibre connecting homes and businesses to their local telephone exchanges. The company leads the deployment of BT Group’s £3bn roll-out of fibre, delivering fibre broadband services to communities across the UK as well as installing and maintaining the communications infrastructure that links homes, businesses, public and voluntary sector organisations to their Communications Providers' networks.
