Data centre operator, Next Generation Data Ltd (NGD), announced today the appointment of Steve Davis as Sales Director. He has specific responsibility for leading a new UK and international channel sales initiative for attracting cloud service provider and IT hosting organisations into NGD Europe, the company’s mega data centre facility in South Wales.
While NGD will continue to market NGD Europe directly to large global organisations, to join BT, Logica and the several other blue chip companies already securely located in self-contained custom data halls, the huge facility’s price-competitive space, scalability and economies of scale also makes it compelling to service provider and channel partners.
These companies, such as recent arrival, Certus IT, have the flexibility of profitably utilising single or multiple racks on behalf of their customers, expanding into larger data halls in the future, as well as the option of consolidating existing older or power-strapped facilities under one roof.

With an extensive telecommunications industry career spanning over 25 years, Steve Davis has previously held senior international sales and marketing positions at Sangoma Technologies, VegaStream, Mitel Networks and Toshiba. He has a proven track record in developing sales through service provider and reseller channels for a range of products and technologies including cloud and SaaS solutions.
At 750,000 sq ft and capable of housing 19,000 racks, NGD Europe is Europe’s largest data centre facility and was the first to draw all of its huge 180 MVA power supply from 100 per cent renewable energy sources. The carrier neutral facility offers direct connectivity to multiple high speed low latency networks and features an on-site power substation providing direct to grid connection for added resilience.
