Nimans Dials-Up Mobile Phone Sales Explosion

Distributor Nimans has seen a mobile phone sales explosion in the first part of 2011, as sales rocket by 50%. In the first two months of 2011 there’s been a major spike in orders as the supply of sim-free mobiles such as from Doro and JCB prove a big money-spinner - potentially worth hundreds of thousands of pounds this year.

Lee Fuller, from the company’s Purchasing team says mobile devices and associated accessories are starting to play an increasingly prominent role in Nimans’ 5,000 strong product portfolio.

He explained: “Towards the back end of 2010 and into this year there’s been a massive surge in sales. We put this down to the continued expansion of our product range and more customers looking to consolidate, by buying as many items as possible from a single source. This significantly increases their efficiency and cuts costs.”

Nimans says it is enjoying impressive sales success with a range of ‘robust phones’ from JCB which have been designed to withstand the most extreme conditions.

The ToughPhone range includes what’s being hailed as the world’s first floating mobile which has been manufactured to military specification, featuring an FM radio, torch and tri-band capabilities. The Tradesman model is waterproof, dustproof and Bluetooth compatible.

Lee concluded: “Nimans was once known as a traditional voice distributor, but we’re a complete communication supplier now - everything from systems and headsets to data and installation, network services, leasing and on-site maintenance. This broad-brush approach encapsulates the mobile arena where momentum is starting to build in a big way - all backed by a world class next day delivery operation. We expect this positive performance to continue throughout 2011 and beyond, as our excellent reputation for service and support gathers pace throughout the industry.”
