Nimans launches City & Guilds training

Installers have been back to the classroom as Nimans launches its first-ever City & Guilds training programmes.

Hosted at the company’s Trafford Park Trade Counter training facility, initial courses spanned the basic principles of communications cabling and also copper cabling in an internal environment.

“This is the first time we have offered City & Guilds courses which are being run in conjunction with approved specialist TotalComms Training,” says Trade Counter Manager, Geoff Wilde.

“The courses enable an installer to demonstrate their levels of competency and qualifications that are needed to gain on-site access in certain circumstances.”

Basic Principles of Communication Cabling was a one day course that provided delegates with a thorough understanding of network cabling and structured cabling systems. It was followed by a three-day Copper Cabling in an Internal Environment programme that covered the key tasks needed to be performed in areas such as offices, public buildings, hospitals, airports and other types of buildings where networks are deployed.

Geoff added: “This is another valuable string to our evolving customer service proposition. There’s big demand for these type of courses and people have been asking us to host them. They enable resellers to keep up to speed with new regulations and specifications and lots more courses will follow.”

Also available is training on fibre optic cabling and electrical installations. For more information contact the Trafford Park training team on 0161 979 0000.
