Construction work to increase floor space by over a third is progressing well with partial occupation of the expanded logistics operation due by mid September ahead of full completion by the end of November.
Chairman Julian Niman says the project represents a high profile symbol of how Nimans is gearing up for an even brighter future- reinforcing its growing status as the ‘logistics engine’ of the industry.
“Over the last 36 years we’ve come a long way. I started the business repairing CB radios from limited space of 36 sq ft at my father’s jewellery business back in 1981 and this latest expansion gives us room to grow even bigger and better,” Julian explained. “The business continues to diversify and we sell all manner of communication and technology solutions from a simple cable clip through to a complete unified communications system, connectivity and end points – backed by the highest levels of service, support and logistics excellence.
“In the early days I was working in just a few square foot of work space. But now the warehouse is increasing from 36,000 sq ft to almost 50,000. This gives us much more order processing space particularly as pallet volumes and order tonnage are up 50% year-on-year. The expansion sends out a very strong message that the business is growing and we are continuing to invest in the future.”
The company’s unique ‘cradle to grave’ IP delivery and support solution known as ‘Compendium’ encompasses an auto provisioning and estate management service that enables resellers to capture a bigger slice of the burgeoning UC end point market.
Julian concluded: “We are a complete ‘destination’ for UC devices. It’s not just the delivery of that device but the whole journey from start to finish. The new warehouse expansion reflects our continued progression and reinforces our status as the logistics engine of the whole industry. I am very much looking forward to the completion of the project later this year.”
