Nimans Open WLAN Markets to Resellers

Distributors
The WLAN market grew by up to 30% last year, with the £250m UK sector accelerating faster than the PBX arena, according to industry analysts from the Wi-Fi Alliance. This year will see even greater levels of demand - further fuelled by new training sessions from Nimans which run until March 16th, with more to follow. In addition resellers can now take advantage of sales training at their own premises, to learn the tricks of the trade in an even more convenient way.

Resellers recently went back to the classroom at Nimans’ Manchester headquarters to discover the latest installation techniques – and they were quick to put their new-found knowledge into action.

A Bolton-based reseller confirmed: “The day after the course we conducted our first installation and it was very simple and went really well. We’re new to WiFi and it’s going to become a big part of our business moving forward, in line with network-based industry trends and customer demand.”

He added: “The Samsung solution is brilliant. It’s easy to install and does everything you could ever wish for. We learned quite a lot on the course and are ready for many more installations.”

The two-day course ended with real-life scenarios for resellers to apply their new skills. Access Points and Controllers, features, Wi-Fi standards and channels, security options and site surveys all fell under the spotlight as part of the ‘hands-on’ training.

Tom Maxwell, Nimans’ Head of Dealer Sales, says new training will help resellers move their WLAN sales further forward. “WLAN is potentially a very lucrative new area for our customers and training is one of the most important areas to help them maximise success. Whether sales or engineering training, we are with them every step of the way,” he emphasised.

“More courses are planned this year and we are now able to visit resellers at their own premises for individual learning too – following significant investment in additional resource here.”
