Nine Signs New Deal with BT Wholesale

Nine Telecom Group has selected BT Wholesale as the company's primary supplier of voice and broadband services in a new two year, multi million pound deal. As part of the strategic agreement BT Wholesale will provide Nine with fully managed Wholesale Calls and Managed Broadband services.

BT Wholesale overcame competition from Nine’s other long term incumbent suppliers to win the contract, which now makes Nine a significant Service Provider customer for BT Wholesale in the UK. Nine serves over 350 business partners and after a series of recent acquisitions has grown from a £10 million to a £35 million business in just 18 months.

James Palmer, Managing Director, Nine Telecom Group said: “This is a milestone agreement for Nine. It’s a demonstration of our commitment to the channel and the trust we have in BT Wholesale to help us further differentiate ourselves in the market place. We chose BT Wholesale because they are the most proactive and well equipped supplier bringing all of the benefits that come with being the biggest player in the industry. Nine’s complementary value-added services, such as billing, direct debit collection and a diverse product portfolio, make this a winning combination.”

Nine has switched to BT Wholesale due not only to what Palmer says is the overall quality of the product, but also the excellent customer service that Nine receives from BT Wholesale. Palmer observed: “We looked at the pluses and minuses of each of our suppliers before we signed this deal, including looking at the account management each offered us and the opportunities we were given by each company. BT Wholesale works hard to present us with new and innovative opportunities, whilst delivering excellent account management, both areas that are critical to the growth of our business. BT is also the number one in the UK for quality of service, and this deal will greatly benefit our dealers and resellers."

“The deal gives us access to the entire range of BT products, including fibre to cabinet and fibre to premises, which will be available later this year,” Palmer remarked.

Colin Annette, Client Director, BT Wholesale said: “Today’s announcement sees BT Wholesale consolidate its relationship with Nine Telecom Group, moving from a small player to primary supplier for Nine. Communications providers and resellers like Nine, who are operating in the highly competitive fixed line market, are moving up the value chain to create an elite group of ‘super-resellers’ who are recognising BT as the wholesaler of choice to support their aggressive business strategies.”
