Nortel Shuffles Enterprise Division Executives

Nortel Networks has appointed a new president for its enterprise business, North America's biggest maker of telephone gear said last week.

In the latest of many high-profile executive shuffles at Nortel, Joel Hackney will replace Steve Slattery, who leaves the company at the start of October.

Hackney was previously Nortel's senior vice-president, global operations and quality. His appointment is effective immediately, the company said.

Nortel's enterprise division, which provides products and services to corporate clients, had sales of $590 million in the second quarter of 2007, up 23 percent from the same period last year.

The Toronto-based company also announced that Joe Flanagan, who was previously vice-president of global fulfillment, has been appointed senior vice-president of global operations.
