Joint CEO at Oak Telecom Phillip Reynolds commented, “We are a BT Wholesale Line Rental partner and use the aBILLity billing platform in-house. Via the ABILLity BT Provisioning tool we are able to communicate directly with the BT XML server. This direct communication means that we are able to offer a line rental service that is second to none.”
The Oak Telecom portal allows resellers to order new lines, transfer existing lines, order additional services and amend existing orders. All the reseller has to do is fill in the online line rental request via the Oak website.
Phillip Reynolds, “The online form is simple to follow and takes just a couple of minutes to complete. Thereafter Oak checks that all of the information has been submitted correctly, submits the information directly to the BT XML server, monitors the request and informs the reseller of the completion date. In this way Oak Telecom aims to remove all of the time consuming aspects of ordering WLR by allowing resellers to take the order and leave the rest to us.”
Speaking at the launch of TalkaBILLity in January this year Phillip Reynolds outlined his plans for the product.
“Our strategy is simple. We have the market leading billing platform, aBILLity, which has tremendous acceptance in the channel. It is both flexible and powerful and has a cost structure geared to reseller business levels so at the same time the product is highly affordable. Minutes resellers have for some time recognised the value in having their own billing system so our strategy in entering the minutes market is based upon providing those resellers that have a typical call spend with us of say £5-10k per month with a free aBILLity system. For the reseller this represents a saving for them of around £3500 to £6000 a year. The irony is that at the same time these resellers will now be able to buy minutes from Oak Telecom at as good a rate as carriers would give them.”
