Online Systems Scores Hat-Trick Of Major Contract Wins

A partnership with Next Generation Network (NGN) operator TalkTalk Business has enabled Carlisle-based Online Systems to win three new major contracts to deliver a raft of high-speed broadband business solutions.

Online Systems is set to revolutionise Carlisle United, Windermere Marina Village and M-Sport’s web and e-commerce capabilities via TalkTalk Business’ NGN and portfolio of business grade broadband products and services.

The company will work with Carlisle United to transform the speed and efficiency of the club’s online ticketing systems, online video content and will greatly improve the web connectivity available to the club’s Study Centre – a charity programme designed for local young people. Government spending cuts have put a massive financial strain on the centre, but this new investment in next generation technology will transform the internet speed, bandwidth and performance of the PCs that the centre’s teachers rely on.

Self-catering holiday resort, Windermere Holiday Property & Marina Village requires high speed internet access for business purposes and across over 50 of its cottages. Downloading business software previously took up to eight hours and so Online Systems will work closely with the holiday village to future-proof the company’s web infrastructure and ensure the entire complex has full Wi-Fi access via a virtual local area network (WVLAN).

Cockermouth-based M-Sport, which operates Ford’s World Rally Championships, was previously relying on BT legacy networks which restricted internet speeds to just 2Mb. Thanks to Online Systems, the firm will now have access to internet speeds of up to 100Mb and be able to conduct vital remote diagnostic/test work and greatly improve the overall speed at which M-Sport can do business.

Paul Lawton, managing director of TalkTalk, added: “These new contract wins are perfect timing for Online Systems as they coincide with us recently announcing that we’d introduced 12 new super-fast* broadband exchanges across Carlisle in the last 12 months alone.

“It’s always rewarding to see that our Next Generation Network and product portfolio is enabling companies like Online Systems to future-proof its customers web capabilities and connectivity, particularly in rural areas such as Windermere.”

Ben Moore, wide area network department manager for Online Systems, said: “TalkTalk Business’ recent expansion of its NGN and capacity to deliver super-fast and resilient business grade broadband solutions, proved pivotal in us securing these three superb contract wins.”

Carlisle United, Windermere Marina Village and M-Sport will benefit from TalkTalk Business’ next generation network and Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) solution which offers the ultimate in business grade internet broadband bandwidth, reliability and resilience.
