Opal Shakes Up Small Business Market with Two New Propositions

Opal, the B2B division of TalkTalk Group and the UK’s leading provider of business telecoms, has launched what they describe as the UK’s most competitive and comprehensive small business communications package – a move set to shake up the market and help small businesses invest out of the recession.

Opal says their Office Complete package undercuts BT’s nearest equivalent by more than 40%. Offering unlimited broadband, mobile and fixed-line communications for only £55 per month, the company says it is the lowest-priced and most technologically sophisticated package on the UK market.

It includes up to 24MB broadband, operating across Opal’s Next Generation Network (NGN), free line rental with unlimited calls, an 0800 number, a free web builder and domain name, as well as a Blackberry 8520 with unlimited email usage and 300 mobile minutes.

The proposition has been developed to support the UK’s small businesses and the raft of ‘recession entrepreneurs’ launching new ventures, while also catering for growing businesses, offering a totally scalable communication solution.

Opal says this offers a complete communications package with a single cost-efficient contract, helping ease the financial and technical pressure on starting and running a new business.

To support the growing numbers of homeworkers, Opal is also opening up its Opal Office Broadband proposition to offer a complete small business homeworking solution.

Opal’s homeworker proposition will offer home-based businesses a premium business-broadband service with speeds of up to 24 Mbps and network priority for just £10 per month with free line installation.

Paul Lawton, Managing Director of Opal, said: “There are on average 390 new businesses setting-up each week. Investing is new communication infrastructure can be hugely expensive not to mention time consuming, especially if IT and telecoms is not a core area of expertise for the business owner. But it is an absolutely necessity; business-grade communications are essential to move forward, grow and ultimately prosper, as a business.

“That is where our business start up package comes in. It provides a low cost and feature-rich solution meaning that a huge cost outlay as well as spending hours sourcing separate suppliers is not an issue. This leaves more capital to be invested back into the business and more time for owner managers to concentrate on their core business.

“For those looking for a solution to enable homeworking, we’ve opened up our Opal Office Broadband proposition – making premium business-grade broadband a reality.”
