OpenCloud and mLife announce partnership

OpenCloud and mLife have formed a strategic, pan-European partnership to help network operators bring a new generation of services to their customer base. mLife’s portfolio of new self care and person-to-person applications delivered on OpenCloud’s JAIN SLEE platform enables operators to provide new tailored and attractive services to their end customers at lower cost and with greater performance.

mLife offers a broad range of applications and solution components to enable operators to grow market share in consumer and enterprise segments. For example, pre-paid voice and SMS, call control, self care through messaging and voice response systems, and top up recharge services.

OpenCloud Rhino offers a truly carrier-grade platform for delivery of mLife JAIN SLEE applications. Rhino was designed specifically for the telecommunication industry using the open Java standard JSLEE to stimulate innovation and interoperability. This partnership provides network operators with a competitive alternative to their existing solutions delivered on legacy intelligent network infrastructures. Furthermore, it will support ongoing and future migrations to next generation networks.

To shorten product development and delivery lifecycles, mLife required a platform with in-built telco-grade scale and availability, avoiding the need to develop these features for each new application. Consequently, mLife can provide its customers with lower total cost of ownership by negating the need to undertake extensive development and testing for each new application or enhancement to existing applications.

Said Zbigniew Opechowski, CEO at mLife: “mLife needed a platform to be able to respond to customer's requirements and to innovate in the voice and SMS domains. The OpenCloud Rhino platform provided us with the call control flexibility and the resilience and scalability demanded by our customers. In addition, using OpenCloud's platform we can deliver products to market far more quickly and with substantively less software code needing to be developed, therefore reducing the project risk.”

Jeff Gordon, CEO at OpenCloud, added: “The increasing trend for customer self service and the continued growth in person-to-person communications continues to drive the need for innovation in these areas. mLife is a well respected and established supplier of IN-network telecoms solutions and represents further endorsement of JAIN SLEE and OpenCloud by innovative services for telecom operators. We’re delighted that mLife has now become a part of our extensive Partner Ecosystem.”
