This Christmas and New Year will see a bumper number of picture and text messages being sent, according to Orange.
Orange expects to see a huge 1.6 million picture messages sent on Christmas Day, a 33% increase over last year, as Brits capture their snowmen, new Christmas presents and dodgy jumpers on camera, to share with family and friends.
Furthermore, Orange has seen an increase on the number of texts sent on New Year’s Eve for the last two years running and 2010 is set to be no different with a record 159 million texts predicted. This would be a 27% increase on last year, when 125 million customers welcomed in the New Year with a text message to friends and family.
A spokesperson for Orange sais: “With the prospect of a white Christmas now looking stronger than ever, we expect to see a bumper number of picture and text messages being sent as customers share their perfect white Christmas moments.”
