Cornwall based telecoms technology and software company Orbiss, with over three decades in the business and hospitality industry, is looking for further growth and development with the appointment of an experienced sales manager.
Sam Hallworth has strengthened the team at Truro-based Orbiss and will work alongside directors Karen McGowan and Karen Patterson, as they embark on major expansion into the business and hotel market in the South West.
The 38-year old from Newquay joins Orbiss from another telecommunications company where he worked for more than ten years. He takes responsibility for growing sales in the Westcountry, offering the latest solutions from LG Ericsson & Samsung, as well as raising the profile of its new pioneering combined movies-on-demand, IPTV, internet and entertainment system ‘Clarity’ for hotel guestrooms – the only technology of its kind in the marketplace.
The unique entertainment and communications platform for hotel and leisure businesses, developed in Cornwall, is just one part of the company’s overall business of supplying, installing and maintaining fully-integrated hospitality systems.
Hallworth says he is on a mission to make the company the market leader, “The difference with Orbiss is the time we take to understand our customers, and how they need to run their business, not just now but in years to come. As integrators of technology, it’s what sets us apart from our competitors. It’s a very positive move and really exciting opportunity for me, because Orbiss has a reputation for delivering excellence and it’s a dynamic, progressive and flexible company. So far it’s been a fantastic experience coming back to the business and working with many familiar names and faces, even after ten years.”
Karen McGowan, director at Orbiss, added: “We are delighted that Sam has joined the company at such an exciting time. Our growth strategy will see us taking on more clients over the next few years and Sam will play a really significant role in this. We have found someone with great drive, determination and skills to help us achieve our ambitions. His knowledge, background, and ability to innovate will undoubtedly strengthen the existing expertise within the team for the benefit of all our customers. Sam has a great deal of experience and I have every confidence he will do a great job at Orbiss, helping contribute to the company’s future success.”
Hallworth said: “Technology is exciting and while I love the techno bit, it’s what Orbiss can do for a business that excites me and my customers. They don’t just buy a product, they buy efficiency, increased productivity and ways to increase sales and reduce costs. We take the time to listen and understand our customers’ needs and then design and provide the best bespoke solutions to their problems that offer a strong return on their investment – that’s what makes us successful.”
