Outsourcery Sell Vodafone Business to Daisy to Focus on Cloud

Cloud Services Provider Outsourcery has announced the sale of its Vodafone mobile voice and data business to Daisy Group plc. The on-going Cloud services and O2 mobile voice and data businesses have been spun out into a new company prior to the sale and will continue to operate under the Outsourcery brand.

In a strategic move to increase its focus on being the UK’s No.1 Cloud Services Provider, the sale of the Vodafone base means that Outsourcery will continue to shape its product offering to unlock fully integrated unified communications (UC) solutions, integrating mobile voice and data solutions provided by O2 as part of the existing relationship. Mobility will continue to be a key focus for the business as part of the overall UC solutions provided, and further announcements regarding strategic partnerships will be announced shortly.

Outsourcery’s Channel Business Unit Director, Simon Howitt, said, “We are extremely excited about the future of Outsourcery and the opportunities for Outsourcery’s Channel Partners. We have restructured the business to now be Partner-led, which establishes us as an extremely focused Cloud Services Provider, set to maximise the opportunity in a market that is predicted to experience exponential growth during 2011.

“Outsourcery’s targeted investment in infrastructure and people, together with our unrivalled, integrated product range puts us head and shoulders above any of our immediate Channel competitors. In addition, our partnerships with best of breed suppliers will develop at a fast pace to ensure we consistently add value to our Channel Partners. We are confident that our suppliers will continue to recognise Outsourcery’s success and hard work, as illustrated by Microsoft when it announced Outsourcery as its 2010 worldwide ‘Hosting Solutions Partner of the Year’ and ‘Dynamics Hosting Partner of the Year’, and (just announced) ‘New Partner of the Year’ from Parallels” and ‘Business Solutions Provider of the Year’ at the 2011 Mobile News Awards.

The ‘new’ Outsourcery board now comprises existing members Piers Linney, Simon Newton and David Burke, and they are joined by channel head Simon Howitt. This appointment reflects Outsourcery’s increased focus on its Channel Partners.

Howitt continued, “Outsourcery remains completely focussed on its Partners, and aims to continue to provide outstanding service at every level. Whilst there will be no immediate changes, Partners will be contacted over the coming weeks and months with any administrative changes.”
