Ovum has been jointly awarded global analyst firm of the year for 2012 by the Institute of Industry Analyst Relations (IIAR). The technology and telecoms industry experts were recognised for their ease of use, value for money, objectivity and originality of research.

In IIAR’s annual survey of over 200 AR professionals, Ovum was judged against other global players – Gartner, Forrester, IDC and Frost & Sullivan – and ranked highest across 9 of the 15 analyst firm criteria. These included value for money, objectivity of research and advice, ease and quality of consulting engagement, and ease of finding and using research. Ovum was also recognised for its originality of thinking and analysis.

“Following a considerable period of change, we’re delighted to see that Ovum is once again being recognised as a leading player in the global analyst community,” says Brett Azuma, MD at Ovum. “We pride ourselves on the quality, integrity and accessibility of our services and continue to make significant investment to ensure that these core values are ever present.”

Over the past year, Ovum has transformed its role from research supplier to strategic advisory partner, improving many of its products and introducing new tools and areas of research, such as the Oil & Gas technology stream. A primary focus has been the overhaul of Ovum’s research portal; The Knowledge Center, which now boasts a cleaner interface and more intuitive search filters.
