Packeteer Wins Enterprise Award

Packeteer, the WAN application optimisation vendor, has received the NetEvents 2007 "Enterprise Product of the Year" award at an award banquet in Evian, France

This year's awards for technological achievement were presented by NetEvents TV Editorial Director, Manek Dubash as part of the NetEvents European Press & Analyst Summit 2007. The entire proceeds of $32,000 generated by the awards are to be shared between the American Cancer Society and the Prostate Project Foundation for Cancer Research.

The judges, chosen from an independent panel of industry analysts and senior press representatives from more than 30 European publications, including Comms Business Magazine, singled out Packeteer along with other award winners Alcatel-Lucent (Carrier Product), Avaya (IP Telephony Product), Sourcefire (Security Product), DiVitas (Wireless Mobility Product), Strix Systems (Metro Product), Zeus Technology (Innovative Technology Company). Packeteer's iShared Mobiliti release 6.0 - beating off competition in this category such as Infoblox and DiVitas - was commended for its "synchronisation for laptops" and being "the finishing touch of an impressive total solution."

Alan Menezes, Vice President of Marketing for Packeteer commented "We are delighted to be receiving this award at such a high profile event with so many of Europe's top industry press representatives present. With the recent release of our Mobiliti 7.0 product, we're now providing mobile users with data consolidation and protection and TCP application acceleration capabilities comparable to those available to larger corporate branch office users. As a result, mobile users will be much more productive while having the assurance that their data is literally in sync with the enterprise network."
