Panasonic Steps into the Cloud

Cloud
Panasonic has taken a decisive step into the cloud communications arena. A landmark partnership with specialist Radius Communications sees the business telephony giant offering Cloud PBX and Cloud Contact Centre services to the UK and Irish marketplaces using the storm cloud communications platform.

The new partnership, signed in October 2013, sees Panasonic’s storm services offered in conjunction with its customer-premise products. The initial service portfolio will include inbound and outbound Unified Communications services, SIP trunking, Cloud PBX and Cloud Contact Centre.

Radius Communications is the newly-emerged sister company of software manufacturer Redwood Technologies and cloud services provider Content Guru. Redwood’s relationship as a supplier to Panasonic dates back over a decade.

The new services will be sold through Panasonic’s UK distribution network, with contract discussions already at an advanced stage with several major resellers.

Bob Mercer, Group Manager Communications Business Unit at Panasonic System Communications Europe commented:

“PBX has been and continues to be important to our business and integral to the way our business customers communicate. Making communication smooth and flexible for our customers is at the heart of our company and the functionality of the storm platform aligns well with this mission. Cloud is an exciting and fast-growing segment of the PBX market, so it was important that our new package should offer the fullest and best range of services, giving businesses an array of cutting-edge telephony options.”

“We’re privileged that Panasonic has chosen to partner with Radius Communications,” said Sean Taylor, Managing Director at Radius. “They have a fantastic brand and a great pedigree in the telecommunications space. Using the storm platform should propel both our companies into fantastic new opportunities in cloud communications.”
