Pedal Power for Instalec

Two teams from Aberdeen based reseller Instalec will join 300 hardcore mountain bikers in the Strathpuffer 24; a 24 hour mountain bike challenge on 19 and 20 January 2008.

Cycling to raise money for Cancer Link Aberdeen and North (CLAN), a local, independent charity offering assistance to all affected by cancer, both teams will compete in Scotland’s (and probably the UK’s) most gruelling mountain bike ride.

The event, which takes place in the forests at Castle Leod, near Strathpeffer in Inverness-shire, involves mountain bikers, generally in teams of 4, tackling a highly challenging and very muddy course, with the aim of completing the most laps in 24 hours. Not only will the Instalec cyclists have to battle with adverse Scottish winter weather conditions, but the cyclists will be competing for approximately 15 of the 24 hours in complete darkness.
