Piers Daniell Named Young Entrepreneur of The Year

Piers Daniell has been named ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the 2013 London Loves Excellence awards.

Piers Daniell launched his first company at 15, and went on to launch Fluidata aged 23, believing that there was a need in the industry for a company that set a new standard for delivering great customer service. He believed then, as he does now, that traditional telecoms companies are too focused on delivering against service level agreements based on penalties for not achieving targets, rather than focusing on the positive aspects of delivering great service, and improving the customer experience.

Fluidata revenues are growing at 45 per cent a year, and customer retention runs at 95 per cent. The company has been listed on the Deloitte Fast 50 and has been in the Sunday Times Tech Track for the last two years. It was listed by London Loves Business as one of the top 20 fastest-growing companies in 2011; and was awarded the Internet Providers Association Best Business Broadband Provider for two years on the trot. It employs 51 staff and is located within 10 datacentres across the UK. Services have been provided to customers ranging from Telefónica, NHS and Sony through to 50 ISPs providing access to over 16 national carrier networks.

Piers Daniell says: “This award is a huge honour, particularly as the judges are all people who’ve done so well in their own business careers. But the success of Fluidata is down to the whole team, who all believe in the vision of the business, and in creating great products and great customer service.”
