Pitney Bowes has announced the launch of pbSmart Mobile across Europe. The product, which allows a business to build a mobile website quickly and easily, is designed to meet the rise in m-commerce. Gartner forecasts the worldwide mobile payment market is expected to have 448 million users and $617 billion in transaction value by 2016.

With pbSmart Mobile, a business can:

Build a mobile website quickly and easily to avoid external agency costs

Add a shopping cart to the mobile site and integrate with a PayPal account to offer a secure and simple way for customers to pay for products and services and provide a complete m-commerce experience

Locate where customers use the mobile site with in-built analytics integrated with maps and geolocation technology

Integrate the site with other social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook

Ryan Higginson, Vice President Digital Channel & Supplies Europe at Pitney Bowes commented: “The mobile payments market is fragmented with banks, mobile operators and other third party providers launching different solutions. To help SMEs take advantage of this mobile opportunity and really open up the market, pbSmart Mobile ensures that the whole customer journey is supported right through to paying for goods and services. Through PayPal, we’re able to provide SMEs with a mobile payments service that can be easily integrated with marketing initiatives. A new campaign can be launched within a day and it supports the entire m-commerce journey, so customers can pay on a mobile website to increase business sales.”

pbSmart Mobile helps businesses build scalable mobile websites. From planning and implementing right through to tracking and evaluation, it is designed to give an organisation everything it might need to create and enhance its mobile marketing. Physical marketing techniques, such as promotional posters and adverts, can be combined with digital channels by using pbSmart Codes within the same suite. This opens the door for businesses to launch innovative QR code campaigns.

pbSmart Mobile also allows organisations to analyse and evaluate the progress of their campaigns. It shows what has generated the most sales and highlights areas of success, as well as room for improvement. For example, data provided by pbSmart Mobile includes location information and shows items bought through integration with maps and geolocation technology. Campaign analytics also include click-through levels to a business’s website, which can then be compared with sales figures.
