Plan.com has appointed Richard Cotton as a sales director. The company said the hire follows the launch of its connectivity platform my.plan in July, as well as the recent completion of a refinancing deal to fund future growth and strengthen its position in the business communications space.

Cotton brings more than 20 years of senior management and sales, marketing and operations experience to plan.com. That includes roles with businesses including WeBuyAnyCar, HomeServe and E.ON.

Keith Curran, co-founder at plan.com, explained, “Richard’s commercial knowledge and sales experience will be a great addition to plan.com, and coincides nicely with our new business strategy. His vision and team will play an important role in achieving our future growth in the mobile and wider business communications space. Our Partners, customers and prospects should expect to reap the benefits as we pursue our clear vision for the future.”

The appointment will see Richard involved in the delivery of plan.com’s ambitious growth strategy, including new market opportunities, product development plans and its targeted acquisition path.

Cotton added, “Joining plan.com at such a pivotal stage in the business’s development is an exciting opportunity. The exceptionally talented and driven team has already achieved incredible growth and I am looking forward to driving that forward and helping to develop the business and its market share even further, in line with the expansion plans.”
