WorkSnug, the iPhone App for mobile workers, along with communication headsets provider, Plantronics, have launched their service in Barcelona to help users find the best workspaces for their needs. WorkSnug uses Augmented Reality showing users where the closest WiFi hotspots and potential workspaces are located by simply holding up their phone, where the information is displayed on the screen alongside real life surroundings.

WorkSnug has been on the streets of Barcelona, uncovering several hundred places to connect, including many around the congress venue, making this the perfect App for MWC delegates and nomadic workers alike. WorkSnug features ratings of WiFi, noise levels, power provision and even the quality of the coffee. Reviews can be accessed at worksnug.com or by downloading WorkSnug from the iTunes store.

WorkSnug began in London in November 2009 and has proven to be very successful. Ever-present in the download charts it has received many positive accolades within the technology community. Stephen Fry, the British actor, famed early adopter of technology and Mobile World Congress speaker was one of the first to test the App, he enthusiastically tweeted, “Augmented Reality on the iPhone. New gen of apps about to burst upon us. Been trying out WorkSnug. So cool it sizzle, WOW!”

Stuart Bradshaw, EMEA Consumer Category Manager at Plantronics commented: “We have been designing and manufacturing communication headsets for decades and understand the challenges for mobile workers. Our mobile professional portfolio features headsets with noise cancelling microphones to ensure background noise is eliminated and you can be heard clearly.”
