Pragma Land LG-Ericsson Distribution Deal

Pragma Distribution Managing Director Tim Brooks told Comms Business Magazine, “Consolidation in the market has left a gap the impact of which has changed the landscape. Are resellers today getting the level of customer service they deserve from their distributor partners?

Burgess Hill based Pragma will begin distribution of the LG-Ericsson range of iPecs communications systems in September with what they describe as a value for money ethos where they aim to make the resellers feel important and looked after once again.

“Some larger distributors are handling the smaller reseller poorly,” says Brooks. “Instead of the personal touch and hands on approach we will be offering many resellers are ‘palmed off’ with web based support and tools. We believe this to miss the point and be inappropriate – resellers need personal attention.”

Brooks and his fellow directors, Chairman David George and Marketing Director Will Morey all worked together for many years at Crane Telecommunications, the distributor that was purchased by Westcon a few years ago.

“We went to Korea a short while ago to meet with LG-Ericsson and it was clear that we both felt that the full potential of their iPecs product was not being realised in the UK. We will therefore be seeking to raise the awareness of the product as a complete Enterprise class unified communications platform and increase its market penetration,” confirmed Morey, who went on to add, “Pragma will be developing a winning set of propositions with LG-Ericsson for our channel partners.”

Emphasising the closeness with which Pragma intends to operate with their channel partners Morey added, “Pragma is seeking to have a close and personal engagement with the channel through a Partner Council where products, applications and strategies can be discussed, agreed and implemented to win more business.

Chairman David George, a winner of the Comms Business Lifetime Achievement Award, said he had been looking to re-enter the market for some time

“The opportunity was realised earlier this year when Tim Brooks became available and I saw the potential to repeat the ‘best of Crane’ principles of customer service and support. Pragma will offer that service and support and we will shortly be announcing further product and application vendor partners.”
