Quortus Joins the Femto Forum

Quortus, provider of transformation of core networks into edge-based applications, has announced that it has joined the Femto Forum, the independent industry and operator association that supports femtocell deployment worldwide.

As a member of the Femto Forum, Quortus will work to help the association achieve its goal to drive adoption worldwide of femtocells, contributing to the advancement of small cell technology. Quortus' EdgeQuor technology puts core network intelligence in new ultra-smart small cells in enterprises, busy urban hotspots and rural environments. This allows the small cell to act as complete localised mobile network, handling smart voice and data offload; local switching & handoff; support for multiple radio technologies; and edge content caching , whilst retaining secure links into an operator core network where needed. In this way, the technology ensures backhaul and the traditional core are only employed where absolutely necessary, thereby making the network vastly more efficient and cost-effective.
