Rain Hits Gloucester Reseller – Dunkirk Spirit Prevails

The unprecedented rain and consequent flooding that has affected parts of the country is having a devastating impact upon homes and business.

Whilst not flooded, Gloucester based reseller RHM is now without power and water and carrying on their business via mobile phone.

Sales Director Nick Thomas told Comms Business Magazine early this morning that they were working on contingency plans to support their customers.

“Power went off here around 4.00am and we are told water supplies will be cut off soon. Fortunately we have UPS systems which kicked in but of course they will soon run out of battery power themselves. In the interim period we are contacting major customers and engineers to advise them of mobile emergency contact numbers.”

Thomas added this all comes at a time when they are very busy with new installations but fortunately many fall outside of the flood affected areas.

“Our new offices are right next to a canal but at present that looks to be OK and in no danger of flooding but not far from here people are being evacuated from their homes. We have all adopted a Dunkirk spirit and will keep you posted of any further developments.”
