Ramblers launch new magazine App

Wherever you go for a walk you can now take all the expertise of Britain’s Walking Charity out with you in your pocket, as the Ramblers today (8 July) launches a version of their flagship magazine walk which can be downloaded directly to your mobile phone.

From walking routes to gear advice, and information on the latest Ramblers campaigns and events, this is the perfect App for outdoor enthusiasts who want to spend their free time on the move. The walk magazine App, available to buy on iTunes, Android and on pocketmags.co.uk, is a digital version of the printed magazine with additional content, photography (and video launching later this year) just for digital readers.

Following on from the success of walkmag.co.uk, which expanded from an online magazine to an essential destination for walking and outdoor information, the walk App hopes to introduce even more audiences to the wonders of walking and the Ramblers role in making the great outdoors, great.

walk Editor, Dominic Bates says ‘We see the launch of the App as an opportunity to reach the wider walking community, and as a tool to expand upon the great work Ramblers volunteers around the country do’.

Head of Digital for The River Group, Natasha Jackson says ‘We are immensely proud of the work we do for the Ramblers. The mobile and tablet App allows us to reach a whole new audience to support the leading walking charity in the UK’.
