Redstone Rids UK Organisations of Damaging Data Delays

Redstone has launched High Capacity Services (HCS), resilient and very high bandwidth connectivity for UK organisations with requirements for data access between increasingly distributed data centres and locations.

Allowing high volume, low latency data transfer between 2.5 and 10 Gigabits Per Second (Gbps) throughout mainland UK, Redstone HCS helps organisations distribute and virtualise their computing and data storage and cope with increased data access and transfer demands.

Integrated with its other Wide Area Networking, data centre and ISP services HCS puts Redstone among very few UK companies that can deliver all of a large organisation’s network infrastructure needs.

Data is growing explosively; IT analyst IDC projected that the amount of information managed by enterprise data centres will grow by a factor of 50 in the next decade and more than 1.8 trillion gigabytes of new data will be created and stored during 2011.

Redstone HCS is delivered using Virgin Media’s next generation national fibre network and is more reliable than traditional dark fibre solutions because of the inherent resilience and multiple path capabilities that next generation networks and technologies can provide compared to legacy point to point solutions.

Business needs for High Capacity Services are driven by high growth in digital media streaming, increased reliance on high capacity low latency web applications and use of storage area networks and server virtualisation across multiple data centres.

Redstone’s target markets will include banking and financial services, digital media companies, IT service providers, manufacturing and local government. A full HCS service is available to customers from scoping and project management to 24x7 maintenance and support through Redstone’s two UK Network Operations Centres.

Larry Dutton, product manager, Redstone, said, “In the digital economy even minor data delays can damage productivity, customer satisfaction, and time to market. High Capacity Services means we can help customers deal with these issues and is also an important link in our aim to provide full network infrastructure to UK organisations.”
