Reseller Win: Damovo £600k NHS Contract

Damovo, the communications solutions and services provider, has announced that it has completed a £600,000 project to provide a converged voice and data communications solution for Rotherham Primary Care Trust (PCT). A new Nortel IP network was selected to take advantage of the PCT's relocation to a new-build site and support the PCT's future technology needs. As part of the contract, Damovo has also upgraded the communications network for Rotherham General Hospital NHS Trust.

Working with the ICT team, Damovo advised Rotherham PCT that it would greatly benefit from implementing a converged network. One of the primary benefits is the reduced operational cost that will be gained from running voice and data over a single Internet Protocol (IP) network. In addition support costs will be reduced, as it will be easier for the ICT team to manage and configure one network.

Damovo proposed a converged network using Nortel's Communication Server 1000 hybrid solution that would best suit Rotherham PCT's needs, initially supporting 300 telephone users. The Nortel solution can be expanded to provide further extensions across other sites, which is ideal for Rotherham PCT as it can evolve with its business needs over time and support an increased number of IP phone users in the future.
