Resellers News: Minx Contract Win

Cisco reseller Minx Technology and Phoenix IT Services have installed a fully integrated,

Cisco voice and data network at the new HQ of fashion retailer Mosaic Fashions. Mosaic Fashions is the Parent Company of Ladies Fashions Brands, Oasis, Karen Millen, Coast and Whistles. The building is a brand new headquarters for Oasis, which officially opened on 30th September 2005.

Oasis has chosen a single vendor Cisco solution consisting of over 170 Cisco IPT telephone handsets, IPCC and Call Manager. These are operating on a network connecting two sites. IVR is used to answer incoming calls and forward them efficiently to the right department.

Minx said that the new equipment is designed to boost productivity and cut phone bills and maintenance costs by providing several functions integrated into one product. “Because this is a converged voice and data system, there is less wiring to each individual person's desk and less infrastructure to install. Consequently, there is only one set of equipment to maintain and the support costs are lower.”

Minx Technology is a dedicated Cisco partner and value-added reseller of Cisco equipment, with all engineers trained up to CCNA, CCNP and CCIE levels. The new Cisco IP Telephony system for Oasis is one of the first projects they have delivered jointly with Phoenix IT Services.

Minx Technology signed a Level 1 Partner relationship with Phoenix IT Services six months ago, after deciding to extend beyond just in-house expertise. They looked at other potential partners and decided that Phoenix was the best fit as it enables them to move into consultancy and project management. They now use Phoenix to fulfil their support contracts.

They called upon Phoenix for the specialised IP Telephony skills that were needed to deliver this system.

Joanna Hutchinson, Sales Manager at Minx Technology told Comms Business Magazine, "The Mosaic Fashions IP Telephony rollout has been an outstanding success and we are using this as a blue print for future Cisco IP Telephony projects."

Neil Hooper, Infrastructure Team Leader, at Oasis said "We chose Minx Technology for this project because they understood the commercial pressures upon us and they came up with a convincing business case for a fresh Cisco IPT solution rather than legacy PBX."
