Resellers Shoot for Sucess with WLAN

Nimans’ resellers have been ‘going for goal’ by discovering why the time is now to enter the fast-growing WLAN market.

Nimans and Samsung are staging a hat-trick of fact-finding events across June – at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, a hotel venue in Lanark, Scotland and also at Samsung’s UK HQ in Chertsey. They follow a hugely successful launch campaign earlier this year which has been expanded to satisfy exceptional reseller interest.

The latest sessions included presentations from senior Samsung and Nimans staff as well as a ‘stay and play’ invitation. Manchester attendees were given a taste of United’s world famous football stadium after hearing how the £250m UK WLAN market is set to expand by 20% this year.

Resellers were told the ‘time is now’ to get involved as they learned how to capture incremental revenue, how to quote and how to harness and target growing market opportunities.

WLAN is a natural evolution of voice and data communications with education, retail and hospitality huge areas to target, said Tom Maxwell, Head of Dealer Sales at Nimans.

He highlighted the importance of upgrading infrastructure to maintain peak performance in today’s data hungry wireless world. Tom pointed out that 90% of worldwide tablet sales are now only Wi-Fi enabled, whilst 42% of all IP traffic goes through a wireless network. He also emphasised how 45m gigabit devices are being manufactured for the UK alone – such as tablets, smartphones, wearable tech and servers - which rely on stable and high capacity network connectivity.

Attendees benefited from a comprehensive on-boarding offer designed to minimise the cost and complexity of adding Samsung WLAN - which is based on expandable ‘bullet proof’ hardware that can seamlessly integrate into existing Samsung architecture or be rolled out across other comms system platforms.

Tom explained that density, coverage, performance, mobility and protection were key considerations for wireless success – areas where Samsung WLAN excels.

“The original events attracted huge attendances so to cater for increasing demand we’re currently staging three more which are proving equally as popular, attracting well over 100 resellers,” Tom revealed. “Samsung WLAN has really captured the imagination of our reseller base.”

As the only voice and data distributor in the market with this product set, Nimans holds an unrivalled advantage and boasts comprehensive reseller support from start to finish, with a dedicated WLAN team.

Stay and play demonstrations involved all of Nimans’ system brands, along with an IP advanced radio system from ICOM. Resellers also discovered more about Nimans’ extensive in-house leasing proposition.

A Barnsley-based reseller confirmed afterwards: “It’s been a real eye opener today. We haven’t really dealt in Samsung before but because it can integrate into other PBX platforms it’s something we are ready to embrace. It’s a very smooth and easy transition into WLAN which is a great alternative to DECT communication where we are already strong. A lot of Wi-Fi networks don’t support voice which has been a problem but this does and it opens the door to a potentially very lucrative market for us.”

A Midlands-based counterpart added: “We wanted to investigate how WLAN can provide us with incremental revenue as part of a complete portfolio of products. Pretty much everything goes over Wi-Fi now so we need this in our kit bag. To be honest Samsung is not the first name that springs to mind when you talk WLAN but it’s very good and a serious contender which will take a lot of market share. Without doubt this will be our weapon of choice. We are already a very happy Nimans customer so it’s an easy decision to make.”
