Resellers Wanted: VQ Cuts The Cost Of Video Conferencing

VQ Communications is recruiting resellers for a new, hosted video conferencing solution that will deliver significant revenue opportunities. The company says their VQ Video Conferencing Services (VCS) provide a cost effective way of connecting users of PCs, room video conferencing systems and mobile phones as well as office and home phones without the capital expense traditionally associated with video, voice and data conferencing.

VQ VCS is a presence-based fully managed cross platform hosted service that delivers integrated video, voice and data conferencing for a fixed monthly charge per user, which includes VQ client, network connection, maintenance and help desk support. It is scalable from one to thousands of users and provides presence-based ‘one click’ calling for multipoint or multipoint conferences as well as ad-hoc and scheduled multipoint calls, over TCP/IP, ISDN and 3G. VQ say the service is simple to use service with built in NAT Firewall enables staff working at any IP enabled location, such as home, office, hotel, airport or Wi-Fi hotspot, to maintain essential contact with colleagues.

With regards to channel opportunity the company believes the benefits of rapid configuration, provisioning and deployment, attractive margins and, with all call charges at standard rates, presents additional revenue opportunities for resellers already operating in the minutes market.

“VQ Conferencing is the only deployable service on the market that offers video, voice, data and ISDN, PSTN and 3G gateway capabilities,” commented Ashley Martin, Sales Director of VQ Communications. “VQ VCS will deliver cost effective access to services that were previously only affordable to the largest organisations.”

VQ Communications aims to achieve more than 10,000 users in the first two years and grab a significant share of the rapidly expanding market for web conferencing which, according to Electronic Telespan, the West Coast-based teleconferencing publishing and consulting company, has grown globally from $50 to $600 million in the last five years. At this rate of growth, the global market will be worth over $7 billion by 2011.

This hosted solution features secure (HTTPS) browser-based data collaboration that enables users to share and edit documents during conferences. VQ VCS will also enable organisations to maximise their existing investments in legacy video conferencing equipment by extending the reach of all H.323 and H.320 room-based systems.

“Our strategy is to work exclusively with a range of resellers,” continued Ashley Martin. “This includes channel partners wishing to enhance their margins by reselling VQ user licenses, specialist resellers operating in vertical markets as a ‘value-add’ to existing solutions as well as setting up a number of technology licensing agreements to integrate VQ with OEM applications.”
