Richard Carter Moves Up at Nimans

Richard Carter is to play a more influential role at comms distributor Nimans, combining his Business Development position with a Group Sales Director remit.

Carter returned to Nimans this summer to re-kindle his working relationship with Chairman and MD Julian Niman after a five-year absence, during which time he helped build Rocom prior to its acquisition by Nimans.

“I am very excited by the great potential this new challenge brings,” said Richard. “I’ve been back here around six months and feel the time is right for me to play a more frontline sales role, driving the business further forward. There are some very experienced and knowledgeable people in place who I’m looking forward to working with. It’s just like old times.”

Carter, who replaces former Group Sales Director, James Perkins, continued: “I’ve spent the last 25 years working for either Nimans or Rocom so I know the businesses inside out.”

The Group Board now comprises: Julian Niman (Chairman and MD), Richard Carter (Group Sales and Business Development Director), David Bennett, (Financial Director), John Cunningham, (Operations Director), Andy Winfield, (Purchasing Director) and Phil Gee (Director and Company Secretary).

Julian Niman emphasised: “We have some major long term plans going forward as we look to significantly expand our revenue streams. There are very few people who know this company and industry as well as Richard. Together with the other board members, he is the ideal person to help us reach our goals.”
