Rocom Does Something For Money

Friday 13th is a day which superstition holds to be full of bad luck. For Red Nose Day at Telecoms distributor Rocom, it turned out to me a day of good fortune in more ways than one. The leading distributor encouraged the channel to do ‘something funny for money’ and raised over £1,000 cash for comic relief into the bargain!

Involving a raft of activities spanning across the entire business - including fancy dress, auctions, cake stalls, raffles, sweep stakes, a dance-off and even an extreme kayak experience! Resellers, suppliers and staff at Rocom got behind the company’s objective of raising cash for the less advantaged.

Phil Hambly, Rocom’s sales and marketing director said: ‘I’d like to say a special thank you to many suppliers that donated prizes for our auction, including Plantronics, Doro, Interquartz, BT and Motorola. But most of all, I want to say thanks to Rocom staff who really got behind the day – we had fancy dress ranging from policemen and criminals, superheroes and schoolgirls and characters from FAME! It was just a really fun day to be a part of. To top that, we had our biggest sales day this year for Plantronics headsets. Well done all!”
